We build custom wooden, composite and Trex decks across the Lower Mainland. Composite boards are made from wood fibre and recycled plastic, so they do not need annual sanding, staining or sealing — a practical choice for Vancouver's wet winters and short building season.

Composite decks are usually paired with frameless glass or powder-coated aluminum railings so the whole structure is low maintenance. We build the deck and the guard as one system rather than fitting a wood railing to a composite surface.

Patio covers over composite decks
A cover keeps rain off the deck surface and makes the space usable through the winter. Covered composite decks stay cleaner, drain faster and see less standing water and debris between washes.

- Maintenance. Composite boards are washed rather than sanded and re-stained each spring. Cedar costs less up front but needs regular refinishing to stay looking new on the wet coast.
- Moisture and rot. Capped composite boards do not absorb water the way untreated wood does, so they resist rot, splintering and warping through a rainy Lower Mainland winter.
- Look and feel. Composite comes in fixed colours and wood-grain finishes that stay consistent; cedar weathers and changes tone over time. We can show you samples alongside photos of finished decks.
- Framing still matters. A composite surface sits on a treated wood or aluminum frame. We inspect or rebuild the substructure before laying new boards, and build to the applicable BC Building Code requirements.
